Day of near misses for British Rowers

RowingLaverick and Bebington The Great Britain boats won two bronze medals on the first finals day at the Rowing World Championships, in Munich, Germany.

The bronze medals came from Colin Smith and Matt Langridge in the men's pair and Anna Bebington and Elise Laverick in the women's double scull, but the flagship men's four lost their crowns. The double world champions finished fourth, as did single sculler Alan Campbell and the men's double sculls of Matthew Wells and Stephen Rowbotham.

Day 8By reaching the World Championships final, all these boats qualified for Beijing. The Olympic finals for these boats is on 16th August.
