Men's Team Sprint

British team failed at Athens 2004Cycling - TrackAt Athens 2004 the British team failed to qualify for the medal rounds despite being the second fastest team in the quarter finals. They lost out to eventual Gold medalaists Australia.

Form

The GB Team Sprint trio of Chris Hoy, Craig MacLean and Ross Edgar beat the French team in the Men's Team Sprint final at the World Championships, but missed out on the world title by just 2 thousandths of a second.

Qualification

The Men's Team Sprintis a twelve team event, consisting of;

  • Winner of the event at the World Cup Series (Sydney, Beijing, Los Angeles and Ballerup, 11 November 2007 - 17 February 2008)
  • Winner of the event at the World Championships (Manchester, 27-30 March, 2008)
  • Ten teams based on the UCI Ranking.

What to see

The Men's Team Sprint is on our Medal Chances list. We hope to see Chris Hoy, et al, go for Gold in Beijing.
