Cassie Patten wins Open Water Silver

Cassie Patten won the silver medal in the Open Water event at the World Championships in Seville, Spain.

Larisa Ilchenko of Russiawon the gold medal in a time of 2:02:02.7. Patten won silver and Olympic qualification in a time of 2:02:05.8. The bronze was won Yurema Requena of Spain in 2:02:07.2. Anne Payne finished in 8th, to earn a second place for the British Olympic open water team.

The Women's Open Water event takes place on 20th August 2008.
