The British team won Team Sprint Silver at the World Championships in Manchester.Jamie Staff, Ross Edgar and Chris Hoy finished second fastest in qualifying to set up the Gold medal clash against France.
At the end of the first lap Gregory Bauge had given the French just 7 hundredths of a second advantage from Jamie Staff and GB. The French moved further ahead on the second lap saw the French gain control, extending their advantage to 4 tenths of a second. Chris Hoy on the anchor lap tried to recover the deficit but the French .
The Bronze medal went to the Netherlands who beat Germany in the medal ride-off.
The Men's Team Sprint takes place on 15th August 2008.
