The Men's C1 (canoe single) class at theWorld Championships in Brazil, saw Britain’s David Florence achieve fifth place (196.49), with Stuart McIntosh close behind in 8th place (201.48). The winner was Slovakia's Michal Martikan (192.87) and France's Tony Estanguet came in second place (194.23). Florences' performance ensured another boat for GB at the Olympics.
The Men's C1 Event takes place on 12th August.
