
Jon Hammond secured a rifle quota place for Great Britain at the Olympic Games by finishing fourth in the Men’s 50m Prone Rifle event at the European Shooting Championships, in Granada, Spain.A new Personal Best score of 597 put the 1998 World Junior Champion into the ten-shot final, in equal second place. Marco De Nicolo retained his qualification lead to secure the title on 701.7. Artem Khadjibekov of Russia was second with 700.7, Espen Berg-Knutsen of Norway third on 700.6 with Hammond finishing on 700.0.
The Men’s 50m Prone Rifle event takes place on 15th August 2008.
