Chris Hoy won Gold in the Men's Sprint at the World Championships in Manchester.Hoy faced Kevin Sireau of France in the final, after victories against Roberto Chiappa (Italy), Theo Bos (Netherlands), Maximilian Levy (Germany) and Teun Mulder (Netherlands) had followed his fourth place time trial qualification.
Sireau was this seasons World Cup winner, beating Hoy 2-0 in the final. Hoy reversed that result in Manchester and will hope to follow that up in Beijing.
Hoy is the first rider to win all four World Championship sprint titles during his career - Match Sprint, Keirin, Team and Kilo.
The Men's Sprint takes place on 19th August 2008.
