Pendleton takes Sprint Gold

Victoria Pendleton won Gold in the Women's Sprint at the World Championships in Manchester.

Pendleton beat Simona Krupeckaite (Lithuania) 2-0 in the final, following on from victorias against Anastasiya Chulkova (Russia), Clara Sanchez (France), Yvonne Hijgenaar (Netherlands) and Jennie Reed (USA). Pendleton had qualified fastest from the time trial.

The Women's Sprint takes place on 19th August 2008.
