Campbell Walsh wins European Bronze

Canoe/Kayak - SlalomEuropean Canoe Slalom ChampionshipsCampbell Walsh, won Bronze in the Men’s K1 event at the European Slalom Championships in Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia. The 29 year old Scottish paddler received a 2 second penalty due to touching an upstream gate, his final time was 205.81, three seconds behind the Slovakian winner Jan Sajbidor.

In the other Olympic disciplines, Daniel Goddard and Nicholas Smith were seventh in C2, Stuart MacIntosh sixth in C1, Laura Blakeman was sixth and World Championship Silver medallist Fiona Pennie tenth in women's K1.

Other medals from the championships were won by the women’s team of Fiona Pennie, Laura Blakeman and Lizzie Neave won Bronze in the K1 team event. In the Men's K1 team event Campbell Walsh (the Olympic Silver medallist and 5 times World Cup medallist), Richard Hounslow and Huw Swetnam also won Bronze.

The Men's K1 Event takes place on 12th August.
