Day 8 - 16th August 2008

Day 8Justin Gatlin won the 100m in AthensA further 28 medals are on offer on the 16th August, as the first week of competition comes to a close. The Men's 100m sprint is the last Athletics event of the day in the Olympic Stadium. The competition to decide the 'Worlds fastest Man' is always a spectacle.

AthleticsCycling - TrackRowingIn the first of two days of finals at the Rowing, the Men's Four should be amongst the medal contenders. On the track at the Velodrome, there should be two Athens 2004 Gold medallists competing, Bradley Wiggins in the Individual Pursuit and Chris Hoy in the Keirin. In the Olympic Stadium, Kelly Sotherton will be finishing her second day in the Heptathlon.
Sailing
In Qingdao at the Olympic Sailing Centre, Double Gold medallist, Ben Ainslie will be a favourite for the Gold in the Finn Class (if he is able to compete) and the British team in the Yngling class will also be one to watch.
