Percy and Simpson secure bronze

Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson won the bronze medal in the Star Class at the at the World Sailing Championships, in Cascais, Portugal. Poor conditions prevented the final 'medal round' from being completed, leaving the pair in their overnight position.

Eleven countries (Brazil, France, Great Britain, New Zealand, Italy, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Australia, Portugal, United States and Ireland) qualified to participate in the 2008 Olympics in Qingdao, China. The four remaining slots will be determined at the 2008 Star Class World Championship.

The medal round of the Star class at the Olympics takes place on 21st August.
