DeGale wins Middleweight Qualification

Middleweight (75kg), James Degale won a Silver medal at the European Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Pescara, Italy.

DeGale withdrew from the final against Swedens Terbunja Naim having secured qualification for Beijing.

DeGale advanced to the final with victories over;

• Giorgi Nakani of Georgia (18:5)
• Abella Castillo of Spain (12:8)
• Darren Sutherland of Ireland (25:16)
• Istvan Szili of Hungary (22:14)

The finals of the middleweight division take place on the 23rd August 2008.
